I would think Subban would be in there instead of Staal. |

In all honesty though, how do you reason that Seguin should be on the 4th line over Hall |

Yep, and I think Letang could get a spot if he stays healthy, seems like injury proned from last couple of years |

Personally see Letang and Subban there ahead of Staal. But given the large number of right handed D-men, perhaps Staal gets that inside track. None the less, open ice can use a Letang or Subban alot more IMO.
Up front I would think a guy like Neal right now may have more change than Seguin as well. |

You have Cervenka playing C. Apparently he prefers wing.
Seriously though, replace Hemskey with Hudler because the former will be injured no doubt.
But yea, we won't be seeing any NA on their respective teams. |

We have some great D options I don't get why people come in here and tell you with out any doubt in their mind that Subban will be on the team. Really he is a lock ? cause he won the Norris this year ? he is also the most risky out of all those players listed and lets his pride get in the way of the team I don't think he cant make but I think its crazy to assume he already has a spot.... |

Great blog, Colin!
Forwards:
Rick Nash - Sidney Crosby - Steven Stamkos
Jonathan Toews - Claude Giroux - Corey Perry
Jamie Benn - Patrice Bergeron - Martin St. Louis
Eric Staal - John Tavares - Tyler Seguin
Defensemen:
Shea Weber - Marc Staal
Drew Doughty - Alex Pietrangelo
Duncan Keith- Brent Seabrook
I would sub out Seguin for Hall right away. He plays with a bigger edge than Seguin and would be an asset to the team. Seguin could be a 13th forward kind of guy. However depending on the play of Mike Richards (who played admirably well in Vancouver) could make the team too ahead of Seguin.
Even Rich Nash is questionable to slot in ahead of others. Milan Lucic, providing he plays well to start the year could also slot in ahead of Nash.
So in a hypothetical, my lines with Lucic, Hall, and Richards involved would be:
Forwards:
Claude Giroux - Sidney Crosby - Steven Stamkos
Eric Staal* - Jonathan Toews - Corey Perry
Jamie Benn - Patrice Bergeron - Martin St. Louis
Milan Lucic - John Tavares - Mike Richards
13th: Taylor Hall
Even then, I'm not completely sold on Benn making the lineup too. He needs to step up even further this year; especially with Seguin on his team now. You could make a strong case for Jordan Eberle being on the team ahead of Benn due to his two-way game, junior experience, and maturity.
Defense is questionable. Depending on how Marc Staal's play is post-eye injury, he could be a 7th guy behind someone like PK Subban to play with Weber or Doughty on the pairings might work better. But like you mentioned, left handed shots are needed on this lineup as well.
I'd take Hudler over Havlat any day on that Czech lineup though. |

There are a lot of great choices for this team but I'm not certain Nash and Seguin are there. I would say Nash has a better chance than Seguin though. But if those guys are just having average seasons I would definitely say they are bubble guys, IMO |

In a shortened season man. I am not saying I don't think Subban can make it but to say he makes it over Alex is crazy in my mind. |

For your "Olympic team considered by many" is who? Cam Ward over Mike Smith...never. PK Subban, Chris Letang and Kevin Bieksa are all better than Marc Staal and Brent Seabrook. On the forwards Jamie Benn, Patrice Bergeron, Eric Staal are big question marks. Tyler Seguin couldn't even stay on a Boston team. With forwards like Ryan Getzlaf, Jason Spetza, Taylor Hall, Matt Duchene, David Clarkson, Logan Couture, Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Jordan Eberle, will certainly all be given the same consideration as anybody else. The only players that have a spot if they are healthy would be Sidney Crosby, Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Toews, and John Tavares. The rest is wide open.

Personally I tink Pietrangelo is better. But PK would be an upgrade on international ice over Staal, Seabrook IMO. |
